But what is an oatcake?
An oatcake is a traditional North Staffordshire
delicacy.
It is made using an old secret recipie of mixing a blend of flours
and oatmeal with water until it resembles a pancake mix and then pouring
a quantity of "batter" onto a hot plate or baxton to cook.
Once cooked it is allowed to cool, it is then ready to add your favourite filling, or freeze until you
are ready to eat them.
How does the mix work?
All of the ingredients are in the packet and no special equipment is needed to make your oatcake, simply
follow the instructions, the only thing you add is water.
